Ultrasonic Testing

Ultrasonics is probably the most widely used and versatile technique in the whole arena of non-destructive testing.

Ultrasonic examination is used in providing precise size and location data on welding defects, for example. But it is also particularly valuable in checking equipment or components which are subject to corrosion and/or erosion, internal or external. For example, it will quickly and efficiently measure the thickness of pipes, pressure vessels, ships’ hulls and so on. And with the miniaturisation of modern ultrasound equipment, it is also ideal for use in awkward situations and confined spaces.
