Magnetic Particle Inspection

MPI is primarily used for detecting flaws (usually cracks) at or near the surface of ferromagnetic materials.

The use of white contrast paints and magnetic inks renders these faults clearly visible when a magnetic field is applied. This can be done either by permanent or electro-magnetic equipment.
